Real Madrid delivered a very disappointing performance against Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabéu. In a match marred by two red cards shown to the visitors, Los Blancos struggled to make the difference and remain one point behind league leaders FC Barcelona. A lackluster performance against the minnows from the Spanish capital, currently hovering near the relegation zone.

Beyond the result, the performance is worrying. The days are passing by in a monotonous fashion for Real Madrid, who continue to lack consistency. After a decent start, they collapsed, leaving too much space between the lines and displaying a glaring lack of collective control.
Kylian Mbappé, who scored a penalty at the very end of the match, allowed Real to secure the essentials, but his performance remains well below his usual average.
Having scored a nice goal in the first half, Vinícius Júnior saw his influence decline after the break, well contained by the Rayo defence.
The bad news of the evening remains the premature exit of Jude Bellingham, who suffered a hamstring injury.
The Bernabéu crowd booed again. Real Madrid won without convincing, without any cohesive play, and with their collective effort remaining as poor as ever under Álvaro Arbeloa.
